This study examined Artisanal Migration from Rural to Urban Areas on Urban Community Configuration and implications for Security Situation in Dala Local Government Area, Kano State. The objectives of the study were to determine the social and economic impact of migration of artisans from rural areas to urban areas. The study adopted a survey research design, with a population of 1743 and sample size of 338 was used for the study. The procedure used in selecting the sample was snowballing and instrument used in collecting the data was Questionnaire for Artisans Migration and Urban Socio-economic Configuration (QAMUSC). To validate the instrument, test re-test method was employed and the reliability co-efficiency of 0.67 was obtained. The method used for data analysis in the study was frequency count and simple percentage. The findings of the study revealed that improving socialization of migrants, increasing crime rate in the urban centers, making their families vulnerable to dangers and over stretching the general urban landscape are among the social consequences. Proving occupation, improving economic fortunes and reduction of poverty were among the economic consequences. Based on these findings, it was recommended that continuous expansion of employment  opportunities in the rural areas by investing more into agricultural activities, organization and sponsorship of integrated rural development programmes will tackle the problem of electricity, healthcare, water, roads, education and security.
