This study examined the fundraising capability of Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It examined their profile, funding sources, intervention activities, and fundraising capability. Data were collected from 270 respondents affiliated with 27 CDAs across nine Local Government Areas (LGAs) selected through a multi-stage sampling technique. Collated data was analysed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistical tools. Findings revealed that the highest proportion of CDA members (33.6%) were middle-aged (51-60 years) males and well-educated (50.7% held a first degree). The primary internal funding source was membership fees, while international organizations were the most significant external source. Key CDA intervention areas included health and education, while infrastructure projects received less attention. Despite demonstrating strong technical capabilities in resource mobilization (x =3.23) and frequent engagement in fundraising (x =3.54), CDAs struggled with financial management, proposal writing (x =2. 4), and online fundraising (x =1.84). Governance analysis showed committed board leadership (x =3.06), but comprehensive fundraising plans were moderately implemented (x =2. 0). Regression analysis indicated no significant relationship between fundraising capability and CDA profile variables (p>.05). To enhance fundraising effectiveness, the study recommends that CDAs diversify funding sources, strengthen financial management skills, leverage digital fundraising platforms, and improve collaboration with government and private organizations.
